So, I've read a short story "Extracts from Adam's Diary" written by Mark Twain. Some years ago, I've already read this story and I liked it very much. That is why, when I saw it in the list, I chose it immediately. I read it again to refresh my memories and to create a nice literary analysis. But at first I'd like to present you an interesting information about the author of this funny story.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (1835 – 1910) better known by his pen name Mark Twain, was a quintessential American humorist, lecturer, essayist, and author. In his works we can fully observe compatibility of realism and romanticism, humour and satire, philosophic science fiction and journalism, but in all these genres, he always plants himself as humanist and democrat. He is well - known for such works as "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer " (1876) and its sequel, "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" (1885), the latter often called "the Great American Novel." In 1865, his humorous story, "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" brought him international attention, and was even translated into classic Greek. His wit and satire, in prose and in speech, earned praise from critics and peers, and he was a friend to presidents, artists, industrialists, and European royalty. He was lauded as the "greatest American humorist of his age, and William Faulkner called Twain "the father of American literature."
